The 1947 Major League Baseball All-Star game was the 14th "Midsummer Classic" and was played at Wrigley Field on July 8th of that year, just a few months after Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier. This cream-colored, lightly spotted ONL (Giles) ball has 25 signatures from the American League squad, who won the pitcher's dual by a score of 2-1 over their N.L. counterparts. Highlighted by legends Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams on the sweet spot in 5-6/10 blue pen, other notables include George Kell (HOF), Bobby Doerr (HOF), Joe Gordon (HOF), Luke Appling (HOF), Early Wynn (HOF), Hal Newhouser (HOF), Page, York, Spence, McQuinn, Kramer, Lewis, Johnson, Trout, Mullin, Rosar, Shea, and coaches Steve O'Neill & Del Baker. Cronin, Hegan, Boudreau and Henrich were deemed Clubhouse signatures by PSA/DNA. Some autographs are smudged; overall they range 5-8/10 in strength and eye appeal.
