Full uniform from consisting of jersey, pants and stirrups originating from the All- American Boys Baseball Game played at Wrigley Field in Chicago on August 10. 1946. The yearly contest, sponsored by Esquire Magazine, brought together the top high school baseball players in the country. Hall of Famers Ty Cobb (Manager of the West) and Honus Wagner (Manager of the East) would lead their respective teams. Hall of Famers Rogers Hornsby and Luke Appling were also among the coaches. Landrith. John Powers. Chuck Stobbs and Pete Whisenant. This jersey belonged to Jack Thrush, an infielder from Columbus, Ohio. "Jack Thrush" sewn into collar of beautiful Wilson size 40 jersey. "ALL American" in red felt on front. Red white and blue shield patch plus "1946" on left sleeve. "Esquire" and magazine logo is on the right. Dark blue piping. Large red felt "6" on the back. A truly magnificent condition jersey from a long forgotten, but once very important contest from our past.
