Presented in this lot is a divine 7" by 9" original photo of Babe Ruth on the set of the 1942 motion picture, Pride of the Yankees, shaking hands with Hollywood A-lister Gary Cooper dressed in classic Yankees home pinstripes. Cooper would receive an Academy Award nomination for his captivating depiction of Lou Gehrig in the acclaimed film that so eloquently honored the inspiring life of the Iron Horse, who tragically died of ALS a year before the premier.

The photograph has light hairline creasing in the upper and diplays in NM-MT shape with a super clean source and exceptional picture clarity. The faces of both Ruth and Cooper pop in pristine high-definition for an 80-year-old image. The reverse print is bold with a handwritten "1" in the upper-right corner and a large Bud Perkins photographer stamp (Baltimore, MD) above another circular credit stamp ("From the Collection of the Memory Shop" in NYC). What a fantastic shot of two uber celebrities snapped during one of the greatest sports movies ever made. The photo originated from the personal collection of longtime Baltimore-area broadcaster, Ted Patterson. Encapsulated Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
