The 1941 All-Star Game was played at Briggs Stadium in Detroit on July 8. With the NL leading 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Ted Williams stepped to the plate with two on and two out. Facing Claude Passeau, the Splendid Splinter launched a game-winning, 3-run homer to win it for the AL in perhaps the most exciting finish in the history of the Midsummer Classic. Presented here is a Reach “Official League” baseball signed by 31 members of the 1941 American League All-Star squad, including eight  Hall of Famers: Ted Williams (8/10), Jimmie Foxx (7.5/10), Bobby Doerr, Joe DiMaggio, Joe Gordon, Bill Dickey, Red Ruffing and Joe Cronin. Others include Ralph Houk, Jim Hegan, Jim Busby, Fred Hutchinson, Ned Garver, Connie Marrero, Alex Carrasquel, Minnie Minoso, Dutch Leonard, Eddie Robinson, Jim Hegan, Dom DiMaggio, Ed Lopat, Tommy Henrich, Mel Parnell, Roy Cullenbrine (SS), Birdie Tebbetts (SS) and more. The signatures of Boudreau, Feller, Heath and Kelter are deemed clubhouse versions. Notations “Detroit All-Star” and “1942” (erroneously) appear in an unknown hand. Green ink signatures average 7-8/10. Ball is in VG-EX/EX condition overall. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
