Rare program to the 1939 National Football League Championship Game between the Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins played at Griffith Stadium in Washington, DC on December 8, 1940. After losing to the Redskins 7-3 just 3 weeks earlier, the Bears changed their tactics, and fed off Redskins owner George Marshall's volatile comments to literally crush the Redskins in the title game. Scoring 3 touchdowns in the first quarter they went on to run the score up to 73-0, the worst title game defeat in NFL history. 54 page program is loaded with numerous photos, rosters for both teams, articles, league standings, past results, statistics, NFL rules and period ads. Program has small 1940 written in pencil on front a well as a small "73" over the Bears and "0" over the Redskins on the center page. Creasing mainly limited along spine but it remains tight. Early NFL Championship program from one of the most historic title contests in NFL history!
