Presented here is USC Trojan legend Ambrose "Amblin' Ambie" Schindler's game-worn and autographed road jersey. Ambie Schindler was a star quarterback for the University of Southern California Trojans in 1936-37 and 1939. His senior year he led the Trojans to a share of the 1939 National Championship. Schindler was MVP of the 1940 Rose Bowl as he threw a touchdown pass and passed for another in a 14-0 victory over a Tennessee Volunteers team that had previously gone undefeated for 23 games and unscored upon the previous 16 games! Schindler wore this white road USC jersey during that glorious season.
The beige long-sleeve sweatshirt pullover has Schindler's No. "24" stitched front and back in red. "CHAMPION KNITWEAR CO. INC. - ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SIZE 46" tagging appears inside the left shirttail. Schindler has signed the front '2' in 9/10 black marker. The jersey shows a ton of game use, with large dirt and sweat stains front and back, plus two small holes in the wool crew neck. Despite all the obvious wear, it remains in amazing condition and comes essentially as-issued and problem-free. What an incredible keepsake for USC Trojan and football collectors alike!
Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum. Also comes with Letter of Authenticity from Amby Schindler.
Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
