Rare program for the 1937 National Football League Championship game held on December 12, 1933 at Wrigley Field in Chicago. The Western Division Champion Chicago Bears(9-1–1) faced the Eastern Division Champion Washington Redskins(8–3). The Redskins moved from Boston to Washington for the 1937. Before the season the had the good fortune to draft rookie quarterback Sammy Baugh from TCU. Baugh proceeded to lead the league in passing with a record 81 pass completions to compliment halfback Cliff Battles who led the NFL in rushing with 874 yards. Playing conditions were bad with a frozen over torn up turf. Baugh was masterful, completing 18 of 33 passes for 335 yards in a back and forth game that saw the Redskins prevail 28–21 for their first NFL Championship. 4 Page program contains full rosters of each team, league standings, and several period ads both inside and on the back. Final score has been printed in pencil on front cover. Program itself in poor condition. Spine has been reinforced with clear tape that has yellowed. It appears that the program has been torn in half vertically at one time and neatly taped back together using clear tape that has yellowed.
