This magnificent photo depicts a septet from the American League’s 1937 All-Star team on the field at Griffith Stadium. The sheer Hall of Fame power on display that year was amazing: Lou Gehrig, .351/49 HR; Joe Cronin, .307/18 HR; Bill Dickey, .322/29 HR; Joe DiMaggio, .346/46 HR; Charlie Gehringer, .371/14 HR; Jimmie Foxx, .285/36 HR; and Hank Greenberg, .337/40 HR. With a lineup featuring these Gods of the game, the American League cruised to an 8-3 win over the elder league. Gehrig hit a 2-run homer while Cronin, Dickey and Gehrig hit doubles. The 7” x 9”” photo has been encapsulated by PSA and graded a Type 1 Authentic. The photo is accompanied by a ticket stub from the ’37 All-Star Game. The Type 1 photo shows slight edge wear along with toning from age. The ticket has been ripped upon entry to the game and has been encapsulated by PSA and graded a FR 1.5.
