In the spring of 1936 a rookie from the Pacific Coast League arrived in New York and provided a transfusion of awe and electricity to the Nation's favorite game. Heralded beyond any rookie in the game before him DiMaggio somehow exceeded unsurpassable expectations leading the Yankees to their first of four consecutive World Championships. 21 signatures appear on this Spalding "Babe Ruth Home Run Special" ball including; Crosetti DiMaggio (3/10) Gehrig (sweet spot 7/10) Lazzeri Rolfe and Ruffing. Gomez is a clubhouse version. Sharing the sweet spot with Gehrig is the signature of Whitey Wilshore. The ball is in excellent condition overall with signatures averaging 5-6/10 under a clear coat of shellac. LOA from PSA/DNA.
