This Official National League ball collects members of the New York Giants and St. Louis Cardinals. The Giants were on their way to winning the first of two consecutive National League pennants and the Cards were in the midst of their colorful “Gashouse Gang” era. The ball contains the signatures of two of the most powerful hitters in National League history: Mel Ott, the 600 Home Run Club member in the prime of his career and Joe Medwick, the NL’s answer to Babe Ruth and a year away from his Triple Crown season. The ball is signed by 21 members of both teams including Hall of Famers Mel Ott, Joe Medwick, Carl Hubbell, Travis Jackson, Leo Durocher and Jesse Haines, plus Giants Freddie Lindstrom, Gus Mancuso Jimmy Brown, Hal Schumacher, Fred Fitzsimmons, Jimmie Ripple, Joe Moore and Hughie Critz, and Cardinals Stu Martin, Bob O’Farrell and Johnny Vergez. The black and blue fountain pen signatures have been beautifully preserved on the ball which is stored in its original Spalding box.

Sourced from the estate of a former MLB player whose identity will remain anonymous. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
