With Babe Ruth having departed and the remaining “Murderer’s Row” crew aging, the 1935 New York Yankees entered a new era and another dynasty began to take shape. In the '35 AL pennant race, the Yanks finished three games behind the Detroit Tigers who would go on to win the World Series. It was a year before the Bronx Bombers would start an unprecedented run of four consecutive championships and five out of six.

This striking 1935 team ball holds 26 signatures including Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig, Lefty Gomez, Earle Combs, manager Joe McCarthy, Red Ruffing, Bill Dickey, Joe Sewell (coach) and Tony Lazzeri. Other notables include Johnny Murphy, Dixie Walker, Red Rolfe, Joe Glenn, Frank Crosetti, Ben Chapman, George Selkirk, Jorgens, Allen, Broaca, Heffner, Tamulis, DeShong, Fletcher, Melton, Brown, etc. Gehrig rates a solid 7-8/10 on the sweet spot of the mild and evenly toned/soiled "U.S. League" ball. All signatures come in blue ink averaging 6-7/10 in our book. No clubhouse autographs, not even McCarthy! Full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG03990).
