The 1934 season marked the end of an era, as the torch of Yankee greatness would be passed to a single hand. It was Babe Ruth's last season as a New York Yankee, and the legacy he had wrought would live and grow as part of classic American folklore. That year would also be a watershed for Lou Gehrig, who had thrived quietly and comfortably in the Babe's prodigious shadow for all of his eleven big league seasons. In riding to the occasion of Ruth's impending farewell, Gehrig enjoyed arguably the finest season of his career in 1934, posting a .363 avg., 49 home runs and 165 RBI, winning baseball's Triple Crown. This 1934 New York Yankees team signed Spalding "Babe Ruth Home Run Special" ball has 24 signatures including 7 Hall of Famer's including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Bill Dickey, Lefty Gomez, Burleigh Grimes, Red Ruffing and Joe Sewell (coach). Overall EX-MT condition. PSA/DNA has deemed Joe McCarthy and Arthur Fletcher as clubhouse.
