The 1934 season marked the end of an era. It was Babe Ruth's last season in pinstripes, and the legacy he had wrought would live and grow as part of classic American folklore. That year would also be a watershed for Lou Gehrig, who had thrived comfortably in Babe's prodigious shadow for 11 years to that point. With Ruth's impending farewell, Gehrig enjoyed arguably his finest season, batting .363 with 49 home runs and 165 RBI to earn the Triple Crown. However, it wasn’t enough for New York to claim the pennant.

This outstanding 1934 Yankees team-signed OAL (Harridge) ball hold 22 signatures highlighted by a nice Babe Ruth on the sweet spot (6-7/10) and an incredibly bold Lou Gehrig adjacent that appears nothing short of Mint 9 in our book. Tony Lazzeri, Red Ruffing and Joe Sewell (coach) round out the five Hall of Famers. Other notables include Rolfe, MacFayden, Crosetti, Fletcher, Jorgens, Selkirk, Murphy, Chapman, Allen, Broaca, Byrd, Hoag, Heffner, DeShong, Van Atta and Saltzgaver. Lefty Gomez is deemed clubhouse. Signatures are done in black pen averaging 7-8/10. ("FC" and "1934" written in unknown hand.) The off-white ball (EX) is lightly shellacked and has a bit of soiling and yellow toning from age. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (AE84586).
