Lou Gehrig's most celebrated baseball card, this treasured Goudey collectible features striking and brightly colored artwork, showcasing an illustration that is among the most enduring and recognizable portrait images of "The Iron Horse." In the year this card was released, Gehrig won the American League Triple Crown, belted 49 homers and drove in 165 runs with a .363 average. An outstanding commemoration of the Hall of Famer's historic 1934 performance, card #37 is the most important issue in Gehrig's namesake set. This stunning PSA NM-MT 8 example is super clean (front and back) and fairly well-centered with vibrant color, straight edges and tight corners, a smooth surface, and exceptionally strong focus and resolution. Only three others have been graded higher by PSA.
