If any Babe Ruth baseball card is worthy of the designation of "classic," his #144 Goudey issue is the one. Ruth's follow-through batting pose, backed by vivid yellow, green and red hues, is recognized and appreciated even by those unfamiliar with the organized collecting hobby. The classic, left handed swing of the Sultan of Swat, Babe Ruth, the Yankee pin stripes and cap...it's all there on this must have card for any serious high-end vintage collector.
Presented in PSA NM 7, the card exhibits some less than ideal brightness and color but the overall image and clarity is on point. The almost perfect centering, super clean borders, GEM MINT reverse and pin point sharp corners give this example some great eye appeal in our view. A recent example in a PSA 7 sold for over $160,000 in June of this year. A great opportunity to scoop up a relatively high grade copy of one of the bambino's most iconic card board classics.
