Outstanding original team photo of the 1933 American League All-Star team captured on the field at Chicago’s Comiskey Park, signed by the team’s manager, Hall of Fame legend Connie Mack. Mack’s signature and non-personalized “With Best Wishes” salutation appear ideally placed in black fountain pen on the bottom area of this 8” by 10” image, rating 8-9 out of 10. The American League’s first All-Star team featured a venerable roster including the likes of Ruth, Gehrig, Foxx, Grove, Grove, Collins, Lazzeri and company, all of whom are featured in crisp detail and clarity. The photo itself shows minimal handling wear. Markings on the lower right front include “Apex Photo Co.” in the margin. The back shows two different Apex Photo Co. Stamps as well an American League Service Bureau stamp. Handwritten notation in ink at the top of the back reads, “Amer. League All Star vs Natl League All Stars Comiskey Park July 6, 1933”. EX-MT condition. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA.
