The 1932 Rose Bowl was the 18th Rose Bowl game on record and was played on New Year's Day 1932 in Pasadena, California. It featured the Tulane Green Wave against the USC Trojans. The Trojans had six All-Americans in their lineup: tackle Vernon “Ernie” Smith, guards Johnny Baker and Aaron "Rosy" Rosenberg, halfback Erny Pinckert and quarterbacks Orv Mohler and Gaius Shaver. USC defeated Tulane, 21-12, as Pinckert scored a pair of rushing touchdowns on the day and was named the game’s MVP. This lot includes an actual game-worn Goldsmith brand leather helmet from that game that was signed in black ink by six of the USC players: Mel Hein, Marshall Duffy, Garret Arbelbide, along with Smith, Pinckert and Mohler. It’s beautifully displayed inside a 12” x 12” Plexiglas case with a red-and-yellow cloth shelf that’s sit on top of a black wooden base. A specially engraved plaque calls out the six aforementioned players who signed the helmet. Signatures are legible although somewhat faded over time.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
