The New York Yankees were an unstoppable force in 1932, going 107-47 in the regular season before sweeping the Cubbies in the Fall Classic for the franchise’s fourth World Series crown. Babe Ruth’s famous “Called Shot” occurred in Game 3 at Wrigley Field. The squad of Bronx bombers featured a record nine Hall of Famers on its roster: Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Tony Lazzeri, Bill Dickey, Lefty Gomez, Earle Combs, Herb Pennock, Red Ruffing and Joe Sewell. And all have signed this spectacular OAL (Harridge) baseball. Other notables include Pipgras, Crosetti, Chapman, Fletcher, Brown, Hoag, Moore, Allen, Byrd, Wells, Farrell, Jorgens, Lary, McFayden and Perkins.

A total of 24 autographs – all genuine with no clubhouse – grace the blue and red stitched ball, which has maintained a nice white glow and remains very well-preserved (NM) with just a few scuff marks. Most of the black ink signatures appear 6/10 in strength on the shellac-free leather surface. Ruth is both the largest and strongest (6.5/10) showing tremendous eye appeal on the sweet spot, while Gehrig (5-6/10) displays nicely on the north panel. The two combined for 75 homers and 288 RBI that season; they also showed remarkable contact ability, each batting over .340 and walking a total of 238 times versus 100 K’s – a far cry from today’s all or nothing sluggers.
