This is a beautiful 1932 side written game used bat from Detroit Tigers star and Hall Of Famer Hank Greenberg. The MEARS census lists this as one of only two known 1932 game used bats with only this one receiving a perfect grade of A10. The bats length is 36 inches and weighs 35.6 ounces which both are consistent with Greenberg's H&B factory records. The side writing of "36 oz, Henry Greenberg, 7-9-32" is clear and legible with slightly obscured side writing below that reads "Beaumont TX, BC". Excellent use is immediately visible from knob to barrel end in the way of ball marks, stitch marks and cleat marks. The bat displays deadwood created by repeated ball contact and has a dual handle crack that has been repaired, by either Greenberg himself or the team bat boy at the time, with multiple vintage nails from the period. This was a common practice in the 30's that allowed players to extend the life of their favorite war club. From a purely aesthetic perspective, this is one of the finest bats we have handled.
