Of all the great dynasties in baseball history - the Murderer’s Row Yankees, the Big Red Machine, John McGraw’s Giants, the late 1930s Yankees of Gehrig and DiMaggio - Connie Mack’s 1929-31 Philadelphia Athletics can claim to be among, if not the best, of them all. The 1929 team won 104 games, outpacing the second place Yankees by 18 games. No less than five future Hall of Famers graced the roster (6 including owner/manager Connie Mack), and the team crushed an unsuspecting Chicago Cubs team in the World Series, 4 games to 1. The same team won the 1930 World Series as well, before finally being defeated by the Cardinals in the 1931 Series. Mack broke up his juggernaut the following season, legend has it due to devastating financial losses he suffered in the Stock Market Crash.

This Reach Official American League ball contains a dozen of the World Champion 1929 A’s. The architect of the team, Connie Mack, makes an appearance, as do catcher Mickey Cochrane, first baseman Jimmie Foxx, shortstop Joe Boley, third baseman Jimmy Dykes, left fielder Al Simmons, center fielder Mule Haas, right fielder Bing Miller and pinch hitter Eddie Collins. Pitchers Rube Wahlberg and Eddie Rommel and Bill Shores complete this Championship ball. The ball shows heavy toning and surface wear. A coat of shellack has darkened the ball, but the black and blue fountain pen signatures are fully legible.

The ball comes with an Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
