Stunning 1928 PSA/DNA Type I Times Wide World original wire photo of the 1928 World Champion New York Yankees. For the 2nd year in a row the powerhouse Yankees swept their National League opponents, this time the St. Louis Cardinals. Crystal clear photo image with all player's faces very identifiable - Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Miller Huggins, Tony Lazzeri, Waite Hoyt, Herb Pennock, Earle Combs, and all the rest are captured in the moment. Paper caption missing from back. "NOV 30 1938", "NEW YORK YANKEES 1928", "484 - 141" and the Wide World Photos stamping all on the back. Photo itself is in very nice shape with some waviness from being rolled at one time. 3/8" by 1 5/8" piece of excess paper from the caption still attached to the front at bottom center. Photo size about 8" by 10". Slabbed in a PSA/DNA Type I holder (1PO1510). Outstanding photo of one of the greater teams in baseball history in exceptionally well preserved condition.
