The 1928 Yankees finished the regular season with a 101-53 record to clinch their third straight pennant, and sixth in eight years. The Yanks demolished the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1928 World Series, sweeping all four games and outscoring their opponent 27 to 10. Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, batted .625 and .545, respectively. Gehrig alone drove in nine runs, which was nearly as many as the entire Cards team, while Ruth blasted three homers, all coming in Game 4. This spectacular 1928 team ball has 23 signatures including Hall of Famers Tony Lazzeri, Waite Hoyt, Herb Pennock, Leo Durocher, Lou Gehrig (7/10) and a large, striking Babe Ruth on the sweet spot (7/10).

Other notables include Bob Meusel, Mark Koenig, Joe Dugan, Pat Collins, Benny Bengough, Wilcy Moore, Mike Gazella, Gene Robertson, Pete Krichell, John Grabowski, Ben Pachal, Al Sheahy, Hank Johnson, Clarence Rowland, etc. The OAL (Barnard) baseball comes in EX overall shape with moderate, even soiling and all stampings perfectly legible and still quite sharp. Black ink autographs average 6/10. What an incredible keepsake from the Yankees’ third ever World Series title! With no clubhouse to speak of, this is surely one of the best 1928 balls out there. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG03999).
