As a testimonial to his Most Valuable Player season with the A.L. pennant-winning Senators Johnson was presented with a Lincoln touring car at $8000 the most expensive automobile made in the U.S. before the first game of the 1924 World Series. This special lot also consists of the pin and card sent to those donating to the testimonial fund as well as an original vintage photo of the presentation of the car to Johnson by the testimonial committee before the first game on October 4 1924. The 4 by 2 ½ inch card itself is highly collectible and very rare certainly the only known example that we have ever encountered. Card is EX in appearance with scrapbook residue on blank back. LOA from Hank Thomas.
