After 18 years in the majors, Walter Johnson finally reached the World Series in 1924 as the Senators squared off against John McGraw's New York Giants. Johnson lost Game 1 in 12 innings 4-3 and went the distance in Game 5, only to lose once again. His moment to shine came in Game 7 as he came on to relieve at the top of the 9th and pitched the final four innings to give Washington their only World Series Championship in franchise history.
