Impressive 1924 Bozzani Motor Car Co. Trophy presented to racecar driver Ralph De Palma at Ascot Speedway in Los Angeles, California. The large 20-inch trophy features a spectacular design with two side handles and beautiful engraving. The trophy reads "BOZZANI MOTOR CAR CO. TROPHY PRESENTED TO RALPH DE PALMA WINNER OF THE BOZZANI SWEEPSTAKES HELD AT ASCOT SPEEDWAY SUNDAY APRIL 27TH 1924" on the face with no engraving on the rear. An iconic piece of racing history from an infamous race track. Ascot Speedway was nicknamed "Killer Track" as it claimed the most lives of racecar drivers from its time of operation. From 1924 to 1936 when the track closed, the site, unfortunately, claimed the lives of 24 drivers during races. Due to the speeds obtained by the racecar drivers, there became notable and heavy crashes that would attract larger crowds but unfortunately end in the loss of life on occasions. A historical artifact from the 1900s racecar scene. Weight: 7.6 lbs.
