Before he was the Iron Horse Gehrig was known as Columbia Lou. He attended Columbia College from 1921 to 1923 playing both football and baseball. This official Columbia vs. Colgate program is unscored and features two images of Lou Gehrig in his Columbia football uniform. Lou is pictured in the 1921 and 1922 Varsity football team photos. Program itself grades GD with the cover attached by only the top staple. Cover is split from bottom up about three inches and splits continue through inside pages but decrease in size. Eye appeal is much better than technical grade on this rare program from Gehrig's college days.
