Presented here is a historical Babe Ruth original photo from International Newsreel taken during the 1923 World Series. The 8" by 10" image captures Ruth finishing one of his two home run trots in Game 2 at the Polo Grounds. New York Giants catcher Frank Snyder stands in disappointment, hands on hips, as Bambino crosses home plate. The reverse caption is broken up, but enough text remains to know this shot was taken in the "second game". Ruth scored only two runs in Game 2, both on homers. The 1923 World Series will always be remembered as one of the best Championship Series in the history of baseball. Ruth hit three homers and batted .368 during the series, leading the Yankees to victory four games to two over the NY Giants.
