Important 1923 Babe Ruth Underwood & Underwood News Service photograph capturing Ruth fielding a ball in his New York Yankees uniform. The 6½" x 8½" image was used for Fro-Joy Ice Cream's baseball card campaign and remains an iconic card from an important year in Ruth's career. Fro-Joy created a unique "Cone Week" promotion during the late summer in order to sell more ice cream where every purchase of a Fro-Joy cone would come with a new Ruth card available every week. This iconic image was used for one of the cards that Fro-Joy produced. The image remains in great condition with a clear image of Ruth. Encapsulated and deemed Type III by PSA. The photograph is a period example that was made from a duplicate negative.
