The American Caramel Company's first E121 issue in 1921 featured 80 cards, jumping to a parallel of 120 cards in 1922 plus an E120 series of 240 produced in colors. The game of baseball was at a crossroads as it entered the 1920s, and so were its two biggest stars, Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth. One man had thrived during the Dead Ball Era, while the other was ready to put it in the rearview mirror. The 1922 E121 American Caramel Series of 120 included two famous portraits of the Georgia Peach.

Presented here is his "Batting" pose graded PSA EX-MT 6. This incredible example is one of just two PSA 6s in the population and only two examples are graded higher. The waist-high portrait is a classic representation of the unique manner in which Cobb gripped his bat. Centering is solid, borders are clean, player image is very sharp, and print is bold front and back. Back is super clean.
1922 E121 AMERICAN CARAMEL SERIES OF 120 TY COBB (BATTING) - PSA EX-MT 6 - POP OF 2 ONLY TWO HIGHER!
