Nice group of 4 Chicago "Black Sox" who were instrumental in throwing the 1919 World Series to the Cincinnati Reds from a card issue that was being issued about that time. Lefty Williams lost all 3 of his starts with a 6.61 ERA after winning 23 during the regular season. Center fielder Hap Felsch, Shortstop Swede Risberg, and first baseman/ring leader Chick Gandil all had sub-par performances, both at bat and in the field. #3 Happy Felsch, 31 Chick Gandil, and 35 Lefty Williams are all about VG. #105 Swede Risberg has had the border trimmed. Decent group of cards from baseball's darkest moment.
