New York edition World Series program for 1917 between the New York Giants and the Chicago White Sox played at Brush Stadium Polo Grounds. The favored American League Champion White Sox defeated the Giants 4 games to 2 led by Hall of Famers Red Faber's 3 wins and Eddie Collins .409 batting average. Joe Jackson, Chick Gandil, Ed Cicotte, Buck Weaver, Hap Felsch, Swede Risberg, Lefty Williams, and Fred McMullin, the 8 men who would later be banned from baseball for throwing the 1919 Worl Series, all appeared in at least one game. . Many interesting photos and period ads. Glued in political flyer covers much of the the large John McGraw full page photo near the front. Front and back covers detached, in poor condition with the back having a major tear going 5" up the center and 2 1/2" horizontally. Interior pages of the unscored program in better condition with wear around the edges. The last half of the program has a tear at the bottom, starting a 1/2" at the center and going up to 2" next to the back cover.
