1916 Rose Bowl program for the January 1st contest between the undefeated Washington State Cougars and the 5-3-1 Brown Bruins. This would be the 2nd Rose Bowl, the first since 1902 which was so lop sided that the Tournament of Roses officials ran chariot races, ostrich races, and other various events instead of football. This would be more of a contest with Washington State prevailing over favored Brown 14-0. Program contains individual Washington State and Brown player and team photos, season player and individual records, college football rules of play, Team songs & yells, an interesting article on the "Tournament of Roses Motion Picture" and numerous interesting period ads. The score card page has been neatly scored in pencil. On the front cover in black ink is written "Gordon Lorham Pasadena N. Years "16"". Front cover also has a pair of light vertical creases. Back cover has extensive damage from being glued in an album at one time. All things considered still a great piece of Rose Bowl history!
