1914 Cracker Jacks are among the most notoriously condition sensitive pre-war sports card issues. High-grade examples are incredibly hard to find due to their thin paper stock and the fact that they were only made available by insertion inside boxes of the sticky caramel coated product (unlike their 1915 counterparts that were also available through a mail-in redemption program). Arguably Ty Cobb's most visually impressive card this example is completely free of the staining that typically affects so many of its contemporaries. Cobb's image is sharp with an almost photographic quality. The dark red background is flawless surrounded by clean white borders. The back is equally clean. With four razor sharp corners that show no visible wear we dare say that this is likely the finest of only six examples graded PSA 8. No example has been graded higher by PSA though this card makes a very strong case for such consideration.
