Honus Wagner sent this postcard from Boston, Massachusetts to his future wife Bessie Smith on July 13, 1913 while the Pirates were in the midst of a series of games vs. the Boston Braves. He has addressed it to "Miss Bessie B. Smith" and writes, "Hello M., Just a line. This Postal is near where we stop. The X marks is where we stop. Jay". He has signed it "Jay" as he was known to her. It is written and addressed in black ink entirely in Wagner's hand. Postcard front pictures Boston's majestic Trinity Church. In the background is a building upon which Wagner has marked an "X" indicating to his future bride the hotel in which he was staying. This postcard originates directly from the Honus Wagner Estate.
