ADDENDUM: THE CHARM IS FROM THE 1913-14 NEW YORK GIANTS-CHICAGO WHITE SOX WORLD TOUR. THERE WAS NO WORLD TOUR BETWEEN THESE 2 TEAMS IN 1917 Eye appealing New York Giants-Chicago White Sox charm/medallion commemorating their 1913-14 tour around the world. After losing the World Series in 5 games to the Philadelphia Athletics, the New York Giants set off on a 31 game tour of the United States, playing against a team of Chicago White Sox and other stars. They left Vancouver Nov. 19, 1913 for the Orient and proceeded to play their way around the world - Japan, China, Philippines, Australia, Ceylon, Egypt, Italy, France, England, Ireland. They arrived back in New York City on March 6, 1914. Shield shaped medallion has crossed bats and ball design and reads, from top to bottom, "Giants McGraw Comiskey Welcome World Tourists White Sox Callahan". Some surface wear but charm still in overall good condition. Back stamped "Bastian Bros. Co. Rochester, N.Y.". Charm measures 1 1/2" by 1 1/4".
