The Philadelphia Athletics defeated the New York Giants in a six-game 1911 World Series. Backed by the pitching of Eddie Plank, Chief Bender and Jack Coombs, the 1911 Philadelphia Athletics held New York to just eight earned runs and a .175 batting average over 6 games.

This amazing program from well over a century ago is an official 1911 World Series program/scorecard, available for purchase at Brush Stadium (later renamed Polo Grounds) for the price of ten cents. The back cover has "Thomas McNamara Waterbury, Conn." written lightly in pencil with the date of Oct. 15, 1911, so this program was likely acquired at Game 1 the day before.

The program is in outstanding shape although the “centerfold” pages with the lineups, score sheets are detached from the staple. There are some pencil markings from the person keeping score. Some slight wear is showing along the right panel of the cover. The staples show some rust but otherwise the program is intact and in surprisingly clean condition

This is a wonderful piece to display and admire.
