A dazzling, crystal clear image of Detroit Tiger Hall of Fame great Ty Cobb in his prime emanates from this coveted green portrait card from the landmark T206 tobacco issue. Issued two years before Cobb had begun his incredible feat of 12 American League Batting Titles in 13 seasons, the card’s superior color immediately commands your attention. It possesses snow-white borders and clean surfaces. The less common Sovereign 150 back is boldly printed in green, though centered somewhat to the left. All corners are very square in appearance with the upper left and lower right showing modest “bumps”. Overall, this card still retains a remarkably fresh appearance that belies its hundred years of age.
