Nicknamed "The Gray Eagle”, Tris Speaker is considered one of the greatest offensive and defensive centerfielders in MLB history. Playing predominantly for the Boston and Cleveland franchises, Speaker batted .345 with all-time highs in doubles (792) and stands 5th on the hit list with 3,514. In the outfield he patrolled “where triples go to die”, Speaker’s defensive prowess led to MLB career records in assists and double plays that still stand today.
