Rube Waddell was known for his highly eccentric behavior. He once left in the middle of a game to go fishing and wrestled alligators in a circus during the off-season. However, the lefty was a commanding pitcher who led the Major Leagues in strikeouts for six consecutive seasons. "He had more stuff than any pitcher I ever saw," legendary manager Connie Mack once said about Rube Waddell.
