An integral part of the immortal double-play combination known as “Tinker-to-Evers-to-Chance,” Joe Tinker occupied shortstop for the Chicago Cubs. Although not known for his hitting, Tinker was an important part of a team that won World Series championships in 1907 and 1908. Tinker was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1946.
