Due to Cy Young’s early pitching dominance, baseball was pushed to move the pitching mound back an astonishing five feet to the current distance of 60 feet 6 inches. Young started a record 815 games and completed an astounding 749 games while also throwing three no-hitters playing for the Cleveland Spiders/Naps, St. Louis Perfectos, and Boston Americans/Rustlers.
