Beautiful color tinted team photo of the 1892 New York Giants taken from the pages of The York Recorder newspaper. The photo, taken on opening day of the 1892 season, features the players and manager Pat Powers posed on the field with the bunting decked, filled to capacity, Polo Grounds stands in the background. Four Hall of Fame players are pictured - Amos Rusie, Buck Ewing, Mike O'Rourke, and Mickey Welch. The names of 15 of the 16 pictured are printed in the grass below. At the bottom is printed "NEW YORK BASEBALL TEAM". To the left on the white border is "N. Y. RECORDER SOUVENIR". Below that is "No 17537". Paper photo does have some creases and tears but still presents an outstanding image. Photo measures about 8" by 9 5/8". It has been matted to a size of 12" by 13 3/4" and is ready for your frame.
