Very nice 1889 N34 Allen & Ginter partial set (23/50) of cards glued onto a vintage album page, probably sometime in the early 1890's. It appears one card was never glued in while the other was removed. The other half of the set was apparently lost over time. Incredible color imagery still bright and fresh after all these years, protected by being placed inside an album. The 11 1/2" by 16 3/4" page has 23 cards, lined up neatly 3 rows across. The page has held up well over time and is not quite as brittle as most of the others from this vintage find. The vast majority of cards present EX-MT or a little better from the front with a few of the cards having some paper loss on the front. The fact this person had so many complete sets with so many different cards leads us to believe that the original owner possibly worked in the company that produced them. The cards are: Bavaria*, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, England, France*, Honduras, India, Mexico, Montenegro, Morocco, Persia, Romania, Sandwich Islands, Saxony*, Siam, King of Sweden, Queen of Sweden*, Switzerland*, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela. *Front paper loss. Beautiful group!
