1888 A17 Allen & Ginter World Champions Album features magnificent, vibrant color lithography. Front has a smartly decorated image of a trumpeter with the Allen & Ginter smoking man logo on the back. Inside one finds eye popping exact size images of all 50 subjects found in the N29 World Champions card issue, grouped 4 or 5 to a page. 6 ball players are included - Hall of Famer Buck Ewing, Jas. Fogerty, Charles Getzin, George Miller, John Morrell, and James Ryan. Intricate, full color designs highlight each page to accent the images of the subjects portrayed. Pages are held together by white twine ties. The album was originally produced for collectors to glue their cards onto the decorated pages. Album itself is in very nice shape with some extremely tiny creasing around the holes with the string keeping it together. There is just a hint of corner wear. The only minor distraction is a 1" diagonal crease across the lower left front corner. Album measures 6" by 8" and was available by redeeming 50 coupons, found one per box of Allen & Ginter cigarettes. Included with the album is one of these original coupons. One of the most beautiful 19th Century collectibles out there!
