Strong image of Chicago catcher Dell Darling, posed with hands cupped at the waist, waiting to receive the ball held in mid-air before him from the popular Old Judge tobacco issue. Darling played a total of 6 years in the National League, Players League and American Association. Crease free example displays much better than the given grade, which probably results from the thumb print sized slight discoloration on the back from album removal.
