Spencer Dinwiddie was taken by the Detroit Pistons with the 38th overall pick in the 2014 draft, and the Univ. of Colorado product has certainly overachieved in his now nine-year NBA career. Dinwiddie proved his worth during a five-year run in Brooklyn where he helped lead the Nets to the playoffs two years in a row before the arrival of Kevin Durant, averaging 20.6 points and 6.8 assists per game in 2019-20. Presented here are a pair of Dinwiddie's game worn shoes from that season photomatched to multiple games in December. After playing second fiddle to Luka Doncic on the Mavericks for a season and a half, the versatile combo guard recently returned to Brooklyn and is leading yet another playoff surge for the Nets, averaging a career-high 8.5 assists in 2022-23 since the trade.
The 6' 5" playmaker created his own brand of sneakers called K8iros (he wore #8 with Pistons and Nets). He sported these purple "Mark II" style PE's during a home matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on 12/30/19 in which he recorded 36 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. We found a few other games earlier that month in which he wore this same all-purple style with apparent matches to 12/1/19 (image posted) and 12/28/19 as well. Internal tagging indicates a Nov. '19 ("11/19") manufacturing date. The size 13 shoes remains in excellent condition with obvious wear. The white chipping on the edges of the soles was used for the photomatches. "12/30@MIN" has been penned on the soles of each sneaker denoting when they were worn. MeiGray has authenticated the shoes and they are accompanied by a full letter of authentication.
