On Christmas Day of 2009, the NBA hosted plenty of key matchups including a highly anticipated matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. The Kobe vs. Lebron matchup was at the peak of its interest during the 2009 NBA season. The Cavaliers got the best of the Lakers on this December 25th matchup, winning 102-87.
Offered in this lot is starting power forward Pau Gasol's game worn 2009 Christmas Day Los Angeles Lakers jersey. The #16 size 52 +4 inches jersey remains in near perfect condition. A special Christmas Day tag has been added above the Adidas jock tag on the lower left-hand side of the jersey. The front of the jersey reads "LAKERS" and "16" with a special snowflake NBA logo. The rear of the jersey reads "GASOL" and "16". Gasol finished the game with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist. Gasol's number was recently retired for the Los Angeles Lakers organization for the role that he played on their team from 2008 through 2014. He will join an incredible 2023 Basketball Hall of Fame class this summer alongside Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Gregg Popovich, and Becky Hammon.
