Featured here is an original Type I photo of Michael Jordan taken December 20, 1988, at Chicago Stadium during a Bulls home game against the L.A. Lakers. His Airness went for 42 points, eight assists, seven assists and four steals in a 116-103 win over Magic, Kareem, Worthy and company.
Well-defended under the basket by the lengthy Mychel Thompson (Klay’s dad), Jordan is pictured mid-air as he attempts to pull off one of his patented, acrobatic reverse layups. His highly collectable Air Jordan III shoes are clearly visible. The 8-by-10 color photo has thick side borders that are mostly clean. The back has a printed description of the pre-game ceremony honoring Abdul-Jabbar and a newspaper cut-out of this image used in the Tribune. Incredible action shot of the GOAT.
