Joey Porter was the Steelers third-round draft pick out of Colorado State. After eight seasons and a Super Bowl Championship with Pittsburgh, Porter signed with the Miami Dolphins. 2008 was one of his best seasons, and he was named a defensive team captain the following season. This jersey was game-ready for Porter for the October 4, 2009, game in Buffalo, but Porter sat out game against the Bills nursing a hamstring injury. As he did not participate in the 38-10 Miami win, the jersey shows minimal wear.
The front has “Dolphins” in green embroidered thread on a white plate sewn able Porter’s “55” in green, orange and navy tackle twill. An NFL shield patch is sewn in the v-neck and Porter’s captain’s patch is sewn on the right shoulder, pink for breast cancer awareness. Each shoulder has a Dolphins logo patch with Porter’s number “55” in green, orange and black tackle twill. A white strip tag with “09-46” is sewn inside the collar where the PSA/DNA & NFL sticker is affixed. The back has “PORTER” and his number “55” in green, orange and black tackle twill. The man voted 2009's “Dirtiest NFL Player” has signed in black marker. A great game-ready jersey from the Dolphins’ team captain.
Includes COA from NFL and PSA/DNA (N5579) which erroneously calls the jersey "game-worn." We researched other games and 10/4/09 was the only game Miami wore white with the pink Breast Cancer Awareness patches.
