Awesome looking card of Hall of Famer Cap Anson from the beautiful 1887 N28 Allen & Ginter tobacco issue. Card appears NM-MT from the front with a small ding at the upper right hand corner. The front is super clean as befitting it's preservation for all these years between the pages of an old album for over 120 years. The card has recently been removed by an archival specialist. The evidence of removal is visible on the back but over 95% of the printing is still present. An incredible value in eye appeal for the price. Anson is regarded as the greatest player of the 19th Century. He had 3041 hits over a 22 year major league career, all with Chicago, the first player to do so. He also had an additional 430 in the first professional league, the National Association. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1939. Once again, the beauty of this card far exceeds it technical grade.
